Veronica Pesantes Vallejo
Veronica Pesantes Vallejo is an Ecuadorian-born curator, writer, art historian, and cultural entrepreneur whose work bridges contemporary art, education, and community engagement across the Americas. She has spent more than three decades making art accessible and relevant to diverse audiences. Her professional journey began in Madrid as a researcher at the Prado Museum before she earned a Master of Arts in Art History from the University of Chicago on a full academic scholarship. She went on to join the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, where she managed international education programs. Her contributions have been recognized through distinctions and awards including a Fulbright travel grant and a recent commission to write an essay for "X as Intersection: Writing on Latinx Art" by the U.S. Latinx Art Forum. Veronica has taught art history, lectured internationally, and written extensively on contemporary art and visual culture. Her writing has appeared in The Art Newspaper, ARTnews, Prazzle, Too Much Love Magazine, and other publications. As founder and director of Miami Art Hang, Veronica has built a platform that reimagines how people encounter art via curated exhibitions, artist studio visits, public conversations, and educational programming. Her curatorial work spans continents, including serving as head curator for the inaugural Quito Design Week in Ecuador. In 2025, her Miami curatorial projects examined colonial trauma and climate change through the art of Justyna Kisielewicz and Alissa Alfonso.
